We stayed here to break our journey back home from the UK. We both loved this hotel as it is quirky, so many hotels are bland and clinical these days, but this is different, the building and the decoration is interesting.
Our room had a zebra theme to it, with some of the walls in a zebra print. It was furnished with some nice pieces of furniture and it was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The room overlooked the lake, the view of which was lovely to wake up to, plus the sound of the ducks on the lake.
We ate our evening meal in the restaurant and the food was delicious, cooked and presented to a high standard. We both ate the lamb as our main course and the meat just melted in your mouth.
The breakfast, although more expensive than some places, was worth it as it was of a higher quality. We were served Coffee and
proper fresh orange juice, there was bread, pain au chocolats and croissants in a basket on the table (the pastries were very good), jams, honey and a tangerine each, plus butter, cold meat, a selection of cheeses, yoghurts and fruit compote etc on a table and in a fridge that you could help yourself to.
The only slight negative was that there was no kettle etc in the room so I couldn't make an early morning cuppa!
After breakfast we followed a footpath all the way round the lake to stretch our legs before our journey.
We will certainly go back here for an overnight stop next time we drive back to the UK.
