　　位于西藏南路、延安东路交叉口的&大世界&曾被誉为中国文化的&东方之门&，但自2003年停业以来，改建复业工作多有波折。几届市政协委员长期关注&大世界&复业进程，提交多份有关这一议题的提案。今年由对外友好委员会主任道书明委员提交的&尽快让上海大世界游乐场复业&提案得到市政协高度重视，成为专委会重点协商办理提案。
　　&大世界&始建于1917年，创办人是黄楚九。以游艺杂耍和南北戏曲、曲艺为其特色，12面哈哈镜成了&大世界&独有的吸引物。建国后曾改名&人民游乐场&，1958年恢复原名，1974年改名&上海市青年宫&，日大世界复业，定名为&大世界游乐中心&。&大世界&是上海最大的室内游乐场，素以游艺、杂耍和南北戏剧、曲艺为特色。
　　&大世界&曾经是旧上海最吸引市民的娱乐场所，里面设有许多小型戏台，轮番表演各种戏曲、曲艺、歌舞和游艺杂耍等，中间有露天的空中环游飞船，还设有电影院、商场、小吃摊和中西餐馆等，游客在游乐场可玩上一整天。
　　据透露，重新开放后的大世界将重点围绕非遗表演、展示、传授等内容，综合大世界的空间布局，通过多种表现形式和技术手段，凸显非物质文化遗产和&民族、民间、民俗&文化形态展示传承的主题定位，力争把大世界打造成大众走近和知晓非遗，感受和体验传统文化的大空间。
