9月9日，科尔沁区人武部邀请军队离休干部任明德在内蒙古民族大学报告厅为入伍新兵作了一场革命传统教育报告会，使新兵们受到深刻的革命传统教育。科尔沁区人武部、各乡镇街道专武干部、入伍新兵及家长共计300余人出席报告会。
任明德，开鲁县人，1925年10月出生，1947年入伍。曾任排长、副连长、连长、副营长、营长、师后勤部生产科长、团后勤处长、副团长、师后勤部副部长等职。参加辽沈战役、平津战役、西南剿匪、抗美援朝、西藏平叛等战役战斗，5次荣立战功，被授予“爱兵模范”“战斗标兵”等荣誉称号，1977年10月离休后回到科尔沁区东郊街道做社区志愿者。
报告会上，任明德以自己的亲身经历，向新战士讲述了解放战争时期的艰苦卓绝，鼓励、教育新战士要发扬革命传统，献身国防事业，扎根军营建功立业。老人动情的讲述，使新战士深刻认识到新中国的诞生是无数革命先烈抛头颅、洒热血换来的，更加坚定了献身国防、保卫祖国的决心。新兵们纷纷表示，要以自己的实际行动，刻苦训练、顽强拼搏，在军营里建功立业。
