Warlords of Draenor is Here!. This has to be one of the best expansions I've seen in awhile. Is anyone else seeing lots of old friends coming back to WoW for the first time in awhile??
So I've updated all damage dealing characters' talents, rotations, glyphs and - most importantly - all stat weights have been updated, including versaility and multistrike!!
Expect to see all the new items very very soon!
Leveling Guide Updated for WoD! - The Zygor leveing guide (that I have been recommending for over 7 years) is fully updated to Warlods of Draenor for the release.
I've personally used this guide in-game for the previous 3 expansions and recommend it without hesitation! :)
Anyway, like I've been saying, I don't make these recommendations lightly, and know it will help you get
your characters to 100 very quickly when you enter Draenor! .

Patch 6.0.2 The Iron Tide is launching today. This is the pre-expansion patch before Warlords of Draenor and with it come a ton of changes, and even some new content!
The large gear based changes you need to be concerned about have been fully updated on MaxDPS: All items now reflect their new squished stats and hit and expertise have been removed. Rotations, talents/glyphs and trinkets have not been completed as some more work needs to be done. Other than that, there's also some new content!
There's a new level 90 five man dungeon. This is a redo of one of my favorite from Vanilla: Upper Black Rock Spire! This new dungeon drops level 550 blue gear and can be run multiple times per day. All the drops for this new dungeon have been added to MaxDPS.
The new expansion is just around the corner!

We finally have a release date for the next expansion for World of Warcraft. On November 13th, 2014, we'll all be heading through the portals once again, this time to Draenor!
There are a ton of changes when it comes to gearing for Warlords,
will be ready to help you get the most out of your character.
Here's a list of the large changes when it comes to gearing up for this newest expansion:
- All stats on older gear has been squished (not a nerf, monster health to match)
- Balanced functionality of Agility, Strength, Intellect (agililty and intellect no longer attribute to critical strike, give same amount of spell power / attack power)
- New secondary stats: Bonus Armor, Multistrike, and Versatility (more on those at a later date.
- Hit and Expertise removed!!
Aside from gearing changes, there's are some exciting new things coming to Warcraft (Garrisons!). Stay tuned folks, only a couple months away!
So, everyone has been eagerly awaiting the last raid instance for Mists of Pandaria, and MaxDPS has been updated!
All of the new raid loot has been added (for LFR, Normal, Heroic and Flex). The non-random attribute items purchasable with Timeless Coins have all been added. Many items (ilvl 489 and 496) purchasable with Valor Points have been updated to reflect that they are now
purchased with Justice Points.
Of course the new amazing legendary cloaks have been added in, clearly best in slot for all classes.
Also, the new stat weightings will be added as soon as Simulation Craft is updated for 5.4.
Patch 5.3 has been released, and while not a large content patch, has a lot of quality of life improvements, large PVP changes, and some other nice little gems.
What you need to know for MaxDPS, is that there are now ilvl 600 cloaks available - yes, I said ilvl 600!. These are available as an extension of the legendary gem questline.
Also, item upgrades are back for all existing PvE gear as well as any new items added in 5.3. Thankfully these now cost less valor and should be less of an agonizing choice between upgrading and hoping for new gear!
Keep an eye out, I suspect we'll see 5.4 on the PTR relatively soon!
I was betting it would be a week or two away, but thankfully patch 5.2 went live this week, and with it came lots of new content and class changes.
All stat weightings have been updated using the latest 5.2 SimulationCraft release (520-1) using all the new class changes. So you can use these weightings with confidence while you check out the item
rankings which now include all of the new items. Whether these items are from the new Throne of Thunder raid instance, or the two new World Bosses (Oondasta and Nalak), or the new reputations, they're all there!
The Valor Point rewards all have their updated costs (50% reduction to 5.0 items, 25% to 5.1 items) and I've improved the listings so that it's easier to see which reputations are required to be able to purchase the VP rewards.
An exciting patch!
Some important updates to MaxDPS have been launched in recent days: I've updated the stat weights for all the tanks and healers as those are a little bit harder to nail down, but are now using the latest
information. I've also added the cog wheel socket and sha-touched socket information and added a few other missing items.
Most importantly I've added all the item level upgrade information. By default, I'm only showing the lowest level version of the item, but this can be changed in the Item Options tool on the left side
of all class item ranking pages.

Mists of Pandaria has finally arrived and for the first time in almost 4 years we have an entire new continent to explore and a new class (with 3 very different specs) to play!

I have just completed an entire revamp of the way gear is ranked . The main change is that stat
and gear rankings are no longer determined by models developed in-house. The rankings are now determined by
the community trusted SimulationCraft values using the most up to date class ability priorities and
information.
