雀形目(Passeriformes)(Mimidae)的几种善模仿的鸣禽的统称。产于西半球。喙向下弯曲。北方的小嘲鸫(Mimus polyglottos)以善于模仿而闻名。体长27公分(10.5吋)，色灰，翼和尾色深并均具白斑。分布于美国北部到整个巴西，并已引入夏威夷。小嘲鸫大量生息于城郊，常栖息于高处鸣啭，能奋力保卫其领域，甚至在夜间也鸣叫。其他小嘲鸫属(Mimus)的种，与沼泽生活的黑帽嘲鸫(Donacobius属)、Melanotis caerulescens，蓝嘲鸫的一种。
