萨尔曼·汗（Salman Khan），全名为阿布多·拉希德·沙林·萨尔曼·汗（Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan），出生于日，是印度知名演员、节目主持人、制片人、慈善家。为知名剧作家沙林·汗（Salim Khan/穆斯林）之长子，母亲为莎玛·苏希拉·查拉克（Salma Sushila Charak/印度教徒），继母海伦·洁拉格·理察森（Helen Jairag Richardson/天主教徒）为知名舞者及演员，有两名弟弟阿巴兹·汗（Arbaaz Khan）与苏海尔·汗（Sohail Khan），两名妹妹阿维拉·汗（Alvira Khan）与阿皮塔·汗（Arpita Khan/收养的），另有两名义结的干妹阿米塔·卡克（Amrita Kak）与许维塔·罗希拉（Shweta Rohira）。萨尔曼为半穆斯林、半印度教徒，整个家庭每年都会一起庆祝三大宗教的节日。

曾先后与模特莎欣·洁弗芮（Shaheen Jaffrey）、女星珊吉塔·比吉拉妮（Sangeeta Bijlani）、索米·阿里（Somy Ali）、艾许维亚·雷（Aishwarya Rai）、卡翠娜·卡芙（Katrina Kaif）交往过，现为印度最抢手的黄金单身汉之一。
萨尔曼曾获奖多次，但仅亲自领了少数几个奖－1990年-最佳男新人、1999年印度电影观众奖-最佳男配角、2007年第十届拉吉夫·甘地奖-最佳男演员（娱乐杰出成就）、2010年印度国际电影学院奖-仁人家园大使、2013年国际广告协会领袖奖-年度最佳品牌男代言人，其余他自认不配获得的奖项都拒领，是印度极少数不在乎奖项肯定的演员之一。

萨尔曼在1998年时和数名演员（Saif Ali Khan/Neelam/Sonali Bendre/Tabbu）共同受到猎捕保育类生物的指控以及2002年因车祸造成伤亡事件而被起诉，但由于两件官司的目击证人在侦讯时所录下的证词皆反复不一 ，使得案子成为罗生门而陷入胶着，而且也因法院审理并未对外公开，造成媒体产生诸多揣测与穿凿附会的报道，严重伤害了他的个人声誉与形象。目前有一部关于他的官司与慈善工作的《Munna Bhai, Sallu Bhai—Killers or Healers》正拍摄中，预计于2013年底推出。
萨尔曼在进入影坛前，从事的是模特工作。1988年凭《妈妈好过份》出道，隔年即以《真爱在我心（首次担任主角）》一炮而红，此片不但打破了多项票房记录，而且也是印度首部在海外重新被以英语及西班牙语配音译制后，再度上映的电影。
从影25年以来，至今已拍了近90部电影。他尝试过众多不同的角色，但多半为柔性化的情人男孩类型，直到《通缉令2009》大获成功后，才真正转型成动作片英雄，事业更上一层巅峰。除了出道首年、1992年、2006年、2008年没有卖座片，以及2013年没有推出新片以外，每年皆有一部或多部非常卖座的电影。在印度百年影史中的16部卖座巨片（All Time Blockbuster）里，他的作品即占了4部－《真爱在我心1989》、《情到浓时1994》、《怦然心动1998》、《爆裂警官2010》，此记录至今无人能敌。他是印度极少数，人都还没出现在大银幕上，就能令戏院观众疯狂尖叫的超级巨星之一。

萨尔曼的作品特色在于－除了那条土耳其石银质手炼总是伴着入戏以外，他主演的电影都会特别安排一幕或多幕裸露健美上身的镜头以飨影迷 ；拒演吻戏；片中的歌曲明显优于印度绝大多数电影里的歌曲；剧本皆属普通，却时常能大卖 ；极少接拍严肃题材，作品几乎都带有喜剧色彩。
萨尔曼的主持处女作始于2008年，印度索尼电视台（Sony TV）的益智游戏节目-Dus Ka Dum，由于其主持风格极为欢乐、不拘小节、与现场民众互动频繁，令所有观众见识到了他不同于大银幕角色的另一面，使得该节目大受欢迎，收视率节节上升，索尼电视台也因此重新站回了印度第三的位子。隔年，第二季的收视率再度攀升，仍大受好评，但却由于未知原因，索尼电视台终止了第三季的开播计划。
2010年，刚在印度起家没几年的色彩频道（Colors TV）找上了萨尔曼来主持他们第四季的真人实境秀-Bigg Boss。同样的，在他的主持下，该节目的收视率击败了同时段的所有节目，也击败了前三季（主持分别为Arshad Warsi、Shilpa Shetty、Amitabh Bachchan）所有的记录，使得该频道声势大涨，在印度站稳了位子。此后，色彩频道与萨尔曼建立了密切的关系，即使第五季在他拍片档期紧凑，可能无法主持的状况下，也无条件答应了他与桑杰·达特（Sanjay Dutt）联合主持的提议。不管第四季、第五季或第六季，Bigg Boss的收视率一季比一季飙高，而且在2013年萨尔曼电影缺席的影响下，他的影迷只能借由小银幕怀念他，使得该频道不但将开播日提前到9月，也对第七季的收视率有强烈的信心。

出自于积善之家，受其双亲的影响，萨尔曼一直有颗柔软的心，他不断帮助Deeds公益信托，并时常探访与陪伴孤儿院、特殊教养院的孩子以及医院病童，且资助他们 。后来在前女友索米·阿里创建NGO行动的启发下，他也开始决定用自己的钱，登记设立了正式的基金会。
“心怀人性-萨尔曼·汗基金会（Being Human-The Salman Khan Foundation）”于日设立，旨在为弱势群体提供教育与医疗保健方面之必要协助。财源主要来自于销售“心怀人性基金会”专有商品（金币/手表/服饰配件）所获得的权利金
、旗下制片公司电影票房获利的分红（电影制作由萨尔曼出资，但所有衍生的收益归属基金会） 、萨尔曼本人除了片酬与节目主持酬劳以外的所有收入 ；其余零星来自于大众捐助、慈善球赛门票收入、拍卖（萨尔曼本人的画作/健身器材 ）等。他的下一步是准备开设连锁餐饮店，以筹集更多资金；最终极的目标是要让基金会能够自给自足，不必依赖任何外界财源；未来还计划建医院、盖特殊教育学校。
基金会自成立数年来，除了不断宣扬其爱、关心、帮助、分享等 "心怀人性" 的核心理念（这些会为人们带来希望与喜悦）与实践相关活动以外，诸如鼓舞残疾人士、为病童与贫童安排电影特映/节日礼物/不定期探访等，也与不同机构建立长期伙伴关系 。在医疗保健方面－基金会协助印度骨髓捐赠资料登记宣导、青光眼宣导、自闭症宣导、资助先天性心脏病童的医疗手术费、为听障儿童提供辅具或治疗、在各地设立免费眼科医疗营、捐赠储水槽给马哈拉斯特拉邦受旱地区应急（缺水会造成卫生问题）；在教育方面－为农村青年之就业发展提供培训课程、资助贫童就学、捐赠电脑给学校与孤儿院、提供免费或贩售学前教育影片等，使得不少人受益，因而受到了整个印度社会的肯定
