Early Access Review
As of writing this, I have logged a good 217 hours into the game according to Steam.Since this game is in early access, the information written here is subject to change. Right now, I would recommend this game to anyone who wants a fun game to play with your friends or even random people online using the ingame VOIP.Stuff the game has:Enemies - Robots, Real People (in multiplayer), TR-100's (they are all your enemy)Guns - SMG, Assault Rifle with crazy zoomed in scopeSingleplayer/Coop - Neurogen Incident, Nucleus Escape Mission, Operations (Swarm mode)Multiplayer - 5 or 6 maps with day/night cycles that happen while matches are happeningIt has a HUD which can be disabled if you get shot but don't die. It will regenerate if you don't get shot for a little while longer.A ranking system which basically quantifies how experienced of a player you are. Your Training Rank goes up the more Training Points you have. The first ten levels are easy to get, and so are the next twenty or thirty. After that you notice it takes a little longer to level up. It takes 1000 TP to get to TR-10. It takes 100,000 TP to get to TR-90, then 200,000 TP to acheive TR-100.So that's basically what it has. I glossed over a few things, for example, the maps. Some of the maps are dynamic, changing midway through the level, altering slightly how the game is played on that map (map name: Elevation, Colony).SHAMELESS PLUG - Youtube channel:
(n00bvlog) Now, back to your programmed content. The Neurogen Incident is a huge coop map which could potentially be very creepy for you to play. You could play by yourself, but I would recommed playing coop because there are no checkpoints and if you die, you die, which could be very frusterating if you play for a long time and then lose all your progress. In coop, your team mates have the opportunity to revive fallen teammates during a span of 15 seconds before their team mate is gone for good. The map is huge and has some performance issues (which, I'm sure, are being worked on). There are also some smaller missions which do not suffer from a performance hit quite as much.Performance-wise, this game does not perform the greatest on my machine I seem to always get 30 FPS. Here are my specs so you can judge whether this is good or bad. Intel Duo core CPU running @ 3 GHz. RAM: 4GB, Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 670.As far as I know, the update schedule of the game is about 1 update per month. So, this game is coming along quite fine, and, with each update it is becoming more and more the game I want it to be (such is the nature of Early Access). Obviously it is not there yet, so if you want a full game that runs great, don't buy the game yet. Read another review in about a year or so. It should have many more features and potentially be optimized by then.Hope this helps.

Just keeps getting better with every update, them robots....my god...scary stuff. A lil bit overpriced considering its early access and state, but worth picking up down the line once they have gotten further into development. Really good shooter, like insurgency but with space and robots xD.

Whilst it is Early Access, this team, Zeropoint Software (ZPS) has such passion and dedication that there is no worry with this game. As it is, it's a very nice singleplayer / 4 player co-op / mp team deathmatch/capture space FPS that is highly tactical and fun to play. Updated frequently and has a great community as well as good community support from ZPS.Definitely worth supporting, I bought copies for all my friends.

The atmospherics are outstanding.I was an early adopter, being entirely sold by the pitch.
Initially I was a little dissapointed as there really wasn't much going on at all... though every few months I check back to see how the development process is getting along.
I'm very glad to say that each time I've looked, I see improvemnets.
I've absolute patience for this project and applaud the dev team for their vision. The latest update adds enough content to get a good feel for the combat, is fiendishly challenging, very playable and highly immersive.
Excited to see the final version with story, I get the feeling it's going to be great.

I bought this game over 3 years ago on a promise and a lot of hyperbole about what the developers wanted to achieve. The product is not yet finished and it will be a little while longer before we have a full single player campaign. However, what is there is very good, by no means perfect, but very good none the less, and I have no hesitation in recommending it in its current state.Whats good:* Lots of different game modes, with the main game being team based PvP, but also a 4 player Coop story mode vs bots, and various other co-op player vs bots modes.* The AI on the bots is fun to play against and they offer a genuine challenge, and have on more than one occasion made me jump.* Very focussed gameplay, there are only 2 weapons and limited ammo in each clip, so every shot counts* Great community of people playing, there is quite a lot of chatter on the servers with players, and people are generally quite nice, funny, helpful.* Quick loading times to get into games* Great respawn idea, basically when you die you have to wait 2 mins before respawn, but if your team captures zones you get to respawn earlier. This makes the game quite tactical and differentiates it over your usual COD, counterstrike type gameplay.* The game can be tough for beginners, but experienced players can be quite helpful, so stick at it and it will come to you* The developers are occasionally found playing with/against you, this gives the feeling that they also enjoy playing the game and adds an extra bit of fun when they do.* Day/ the night mode makes things especially interesting, how often do you use the flashlight to see where you are going vs giving your position away. The positional sound of footsteps also can give you away / help you find people.* A bunch of other things I can't be arsed to type.Whats bad:* Despite selling a lot of copies of the game, and there being quite a lot of servers, only 1 or 2 of the main ones tend to fill up. However, once you are in at the right time of day the games are fun, in fact I have had quite a few 2v2 or 4v4 games that were amazing.* Lag. This to me is the games biggest issue, and can be quite frustrating at times, however, again with experience you can compensate for it by firing ahead of target. If there is one thing that needs some more TLC its the lag compensation and reducing overall lag when connecting to servers.* I play a lot of counterstrike and miss not being able to melee people, i would take anything over nothing, even if you had to charge melee up before striking. The prestige of being able to sneak up on someone and stab them in the back and embarass them would make this game twice as good.* Not much else other than its not finished, but like I said this is still a very good and polished gameOverall if want something a bit different then this game might be for you, also you can test some of the early stuff out on their website before committing:
or even watch a few videos of it on youtube: edit: added link

this would probably be one of the best games i've played so far, the graphics make you go &WOW& every so often. While the land sharks are not ingame, as i'm posting this, it's still a great pvp/pve game. Team co-operation is needed for the PVE maps, you cannot win if everyone goes in their own direction. All this being said, Zero Point has done a great job with this game, i cannot wait for more features to be added.-Holz

IF YOU WANT IMMERSION THIS IS YOUR ????!THIS GAME MAN, its like putting red orchestra and arma, put together with Aliens. You have the most immersive game in development for an indie game. Full body view, no more floaty hands, realistic hud style...and when you take off your helmet your hud dissapears and your face becomes exposed to danger. With such realistic assets as body armor protection for the chest, bending of legs to jump higher, etc. In a later date theyre promising a PDA for most of the functions...and weapon attachments in real time. CAN IT GET ANYMORE EXPANSIVE?!Okay enough of
though this is obviously, by far, early access. It has light optimization (getting sometimes 20 fps versus 80+ in well lit areas.), bad synch in servers (bullets can take a long second before leaving your barrel), and pretty gritty combat (3 hit kill even on easy). This is by far a great example of a early access. The company knows the risks, and as so asks generously and uses wisely from the community. So far they've delivered what they promised, which is still a rare trait in indie devs, So the community response, constant updates, is just an amazing trait about this game. It is highly playable ofcourse, i havent noticed anything game breaking. Though i will say its current replay value is really low for the reason of there is nothing to unlock just yet. They will be making in the future however, weapon experience (profession) for attachment, and new gear for your character. This game is currently in the sort of bug exploit and engine trailer build i would say. Its playable, but more or less to show off what its building up to achieve, which they are doing fantastically.Gameplay: slow tactical, but very fast paced in CQC. Enjoyable atmosphere, you have to rely on your complete senses in roder to survive, no spotting, no magical radar, nothing, jsut your eyes, and your gun.8.5/10 for realism7.75/10 for enjoymentGraphics: 10/10 nuff said. The amount of work into the environment, the detail of the suit (even allowing you to tell its very futuristically designed out of modenr materials like gel under suits), everything for an indie and early access is like playing crysis all over again when it first came out. This game may revolutionize graphics for developers of indies. All they need is optimization.10+/10 perfect rating for graphical power/usage4.50/10 for optimization.Replayability: Really low currently, though i have to say if they pull what theyre wanting this game to be off...We're talking about hours of additional enjoyment.5/10 in current state9.75/10 on future ideas.Realism: if you though aliens was too science fiction: welcome to the real hardcore time of space.10/10 excellent for realismcurrent grade: 9.75/10 for current stateIt might be high spec and requirement, but i have witnessed TOO MANY floaty arms, or space battles, WHERES THE REAL MEN? the ones who's body armor actrully means something, and arent some green guy with shielding like a wussy. Wheres the man who doesnt need nightvision to kick ??? at nighttime, or is a chuck norris by themself? when you need a team to take down something enjoyably for yur amuzement, the interstellar marines are the highest on the ????ing space market. Hurrah marines!

Intersteller Marines shows a lot of promise, though need a lot of work still.Multiplayer works well enough, but I haven't played it much since I seem to die every minute. The singleplayer/co-op mission that was released not too long ago is pretty good, considering it was the first one available on Steam (Though I've only played singleplayer version). However the AIs are stupid and sometimes run right past you.My favorite feature of this game is the lighting effects, which are some of the best I've seen in a video game: very dark or very bright all in the right places, and synthetic lights flicker and die when you shoot them. The helmet effects are also really well done, with water drops in the rain, smooth transition when it's rained or lowered, and vision seems to be a little cearer when its up, though all hud-elements disappear (which is a nice, realistic touch). Also it's nice how when you're crouching, you peak over cover while aiming down-sight.The game's nowhere near finished, but what they have is great, and I look forward to future updates.

10/10 - and I expect it will only get better. These guys are going to make a superb game. Viscerally immersive, I have to take frequent breaks, scared my heart will beat itself to death. Am desperate to get the lads over to see which one of us freaks first. In terms of immersion, would love to see TrackIR support for independent head movement
(á la Arma series) and am looking forward to the &RTVP& voice comms that, on paper, is going to be an industry leading, gold-star feature. Please buy this and get excited about what it will become.

(Be aware this game is early alpha, and thus I'm reviewing my impressions on the game as of November 8, 2014.)Interstellar Marines is a Co-Op Tactical FPS. It pits you and 3 other teammates who are, you guess it, interstellar marines, against defective robots in a battle to survive to the end by means of elimination, escaping, or simply surviving. Or, you can also go against other players in a control point-style battle. This game actually has a good amount of realism and atmosphere which blend very well for a game like this. The game has a real dark atmosphere to it, feels genuinely creepy and lonely with only your friends by your side. The maps, for the most part, are like an abandoned and broken facility. Very dark, and your main light source would be flickering lights or your own flashlight. It really brings immersion into the game, which is very helpful. The animations of the marines too are very well done, especially in first person. You actually see your arms move as you look around, see your own feet, and so on. Small detail, but very welcome.Speaking of realism, that's one of the best parts of the game. Whenever you take damage, your hearing is impaired (which is important in this game), your HUD disappears until you heal, and team damage/killing is also real. The guns aren't all that powerful either, but that's a good thing. The robots you face are very powerful, and can down you in seconds. You only have two guns: One for short range, and one for long range. Neither have that much ammo in it's clip (Probably enough for 3-4 robots if you're accurate), or have amazing accuracy, so you need to be Spraying and gunning your way through just won't succeed.Teamwork is heavily emphasized here. It's only four of you, and because the robots are so powerful, you're likely to go down. The only way you can survive is if your teammates revive you in your 15 seconds of last breaths. The aforementioned guns are weak with only one person, so if hoards of robots come, you all need to use your ammo and shoot tactically. There's currently 5 game modes as of this review, and they all have nice variety to the game. Elimination is killing all the robots in the area, Escape is moving to the top of the facility while surviving from the bots, Survivial is activiating several objectives and then escaping (with robots.), and Stronghold is the PvP game mode, 2 teams trying to capture all points in the area. The other mode is a campaign mission, titled The Neurogen Incident. It appears to be story oriented, but I cannot currently play it as it crashes my game. All in all, Marines is an incredible team based tactical shooter, especially for being early access! And I would really recommend this to anybody who wants some good times with their friends, using teamwork to achieve the goal in a dark and desolate enviornment.

That 1 fps that the little kids wont find as they are just sitting on their Xboxes waiting for the new cod. And that one fps that the tryhards wont find because they are sitting on free to play Red crucible 2 and Hawken.Community 10/102 weapons? Okay I know this game is in what? Alpha? Beta? But come on.4/10Oh ???? there are servers for nearly all the continents. And they run smoothly 8/10Graphics are great even with how low the system requirements are. However if your limit really is Team fortress 2 then you dont want this game.10/10Lastly. Balanced gameplay. Nothing overpowered and controls are easy to learn.9/10,Overall a great game and when its in full swing it will be very sucsessful.
