这是PSP上该系列的第二款作品。在前作《山脊赛车》发售的2年后，《山脊赛车》系列最新作终于又将在PSP平台推出。本作将收录前作中的赛道以及新增赛道，使赛道总数达到系列最多的42条（包含逆向赛道），其中还囊括了《RIDGE RACER REVOLUTION》、《RAGE RACER》、《R4》的全部赛道。　　PSP版的《山脊赛车2》在继承前作优点的基础上又增加了许多新的要素，除了原有的世界之旅模式、时间挑战模式和无线对战模式（最多支持8人对战）以外，还新增了街机模式、决斗模式和生存模式。街机模式类似于街机的竞赛模式，玩家要在规定时间内完成比赛的要求并争取以最短的时间通过check points来赢得额外的时间奖励。生存模式则是采用“末尾淘汰制”，让玩家的神经时刻处于紧绷状态。　　一&&基本操作 　　十字键/摇杆 控制赛车移动　　START 比赛暂停，进入游戏菜单　　SELECT 调整画面上的数据　　□ 刹车　　○ -　　△ -　　× 加速　　L 切换视角　　R 使用“氮气”加速

“WORLD TOURS”是前作就已经存在的了，不过这次模式的关卡比前作多了不少，在保留了“BASICツア－”、“PROツア－”、“EXツア－”的基础上，而且还增加了“MAXツア－”！在游戏中获得的奖励影象，也基本和前作一样，收录了以前RR1-RR4的片头CG。这次没有了前作赛车的设定原画，增加的是一段赛车的CG影象！

“ARCADE”就是自由选择赛道和赛车进行比赛的模式。比起前作来，此次可以选择赛道是“顺走”还是“逆走”，让玩家有更大空间去选择自己喜欢的！

“DUEL”是和电脑进行1对1的比赛。这里可以和电脑单挑，整个赛事只有两辆车，所以要么就是胜利，要么就是失败，特别的刺激！

“SURVIVAL”是个生存模式，共有4辆车参赛，比赛时如果在单圈的时候获得最后一名就会被淘汰，而剩下的则继续进行比赛！

“TIME ATTACK”是在比赛中挑战时间的极限，以最快速度通过终点的一种模式！

“WIRELESS BATTLE”是通过PSP的无线LAN功能，与其他玩家进行对战的模式！

“SAVE/LOAD”是游戏存档或者读取存档的地方，这里可以将游戏设置成自动存档，这样会比较方便！

“OPTIONS”是调整游戏里的各种设定，包括游戏难度，音量等等，还可以直接在这里玩那个赛车的小游戏！漂移：山脊赛车系列一向是以漂移为主的游戏，尤其是在过弯道时，赛车甩尾更加让人兴奋……在比赛的时候，遇到拐弯的地方，玩家一般都会刹车，然后再迅速的踩入油门加速，这样的话，车子就会与地面摩擦进入弯道！只有将漂移的时机把握好，才能在一些困难的赛事里取胜。

使用氮气加速，也是比赛取胜的关键，游戏中只要在漂移的时候，氮气槽就会增加，所以遇到弯道时，能甩就甩吧，这样会蓄起来会比较快哦……使用氮气的最佳时机是在赛车速度达到80%以上，这样才能使赛车达到120%的极速，不然的话低于80%时使用，速度只是稍微的增加一点而已！！！

最高难度赛事――“MAXツア－”
在“WORLD TOURS”世界之旅模式中，只要将之前出现的3个“BASICツア－”、“PROツア－”、“EXツア－”赛事里的48关全部通关后，就会有最高难度的“MAXツア－”！虽然只有8关，可全都是难度超高的，据说是300个玩此游戏的人中，只有1个能玩穿这个赛事，对玩家来说是十分有挑战性的，不过本人试了下，的确是地狱难度……
比赛只有4辆车进行，规定要拿第一名，其他的3辆车AI十分高，只要在后面靠近时，会使用氮气，一下子就消失了踪影……经过我多次的试验，在这里提供一个可以有机会获胜的办法，在前两圈的时候一直要紧贴着前3辆车，不要离得太远，而到了第3圈决胜负的时候，必须要蓄满了3条的氮气槽，在快要到终点的时候，一次性的将3条氮气全部用掉，运气好的话，就可以获胜！
